- CA 2317 UIIA Auto Policy Endorsement
- Auto Liability (AL) – $1,000,000 is required. And must contain the a uniform intermodal interchange endorsement. Examples are the CA 2317 or UIIE-1. And we need to make sure your policy has the blanket additional insured (AI) on the auto liability (AL). Some UIIA equipment provider may require a wavier of subrogation (WOS) on the AL part of your policy. We can help you.
- General Liability – $1,000,000 per occurrence with $2,000,000 general aggerate. While make sure your general liability policy for the UIIA has the blanket additional insured (AI). In some cases you will need a wavier of subrogation (WOS). Our agents will help you with to determine if this coverage is needed on your UIIA insurance policy.
- Motor Truck Cargo – In most cases with $100,000 cargo in place is the standard amount of cargo required for the UIIA equipment providers (see ep list). Some of the EP can require higher limits. Up to $250,000 for some EP. JDW will work with you to make sure you have the correct Cargo insurance coverage in place. Having the correct UIIA cargo in place is important to be able to work with the UIIA shipper of your choice.
- Trailer Interchange (TI) – The EP list will show you the amounts of UIIA trailer interchange insurance coverage you will need to work with the different UIIA equipment providers. The recommended UIIA insurance requirement to start with are at least $25,000 in TI. Some of the EP providers will require high trailer interchange coverages. JDW will discuss this with you to help you make sure you have the correct TI coverages in place. One example of when higher trailer interchange insurance is required. The South Carolina Ports Authority requires $30,000 in UIIA trailer interchange coverage. You will want to confirm your TI has the blanket trailer interchange endorsement.
