Friedens is a census-designated place (CDP) that is part of Somerset Township in Somerset County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 1,523 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Johnstown, Pennsylvania Metropolitan Statistical Area.

As of the census of 2000, there were 1,673 people, 636 households, and 485 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 533.1 inhabitants per square mile (205.8/km2). There were 682 housing units at an average density of 217.3 per square mile (83.9/km). The racial makeup of the CDP was 99.34% White, 0.06% African American, 0.12% Native American, 0.18% Asian, 0.06% from other races, and 0.24% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.18% of the population.
